2024 Graduation

After spending years in other careers that never quite felt right, switching to secondary science teaching felt like a huge risk. I worried about starting again, retraining, and whether I’d be able to keep up.
What made the difference was the support I got from YHTT. They didn’t just teach me how to plan lessons or manage a classroom — they helped me grow in confidence and actually enjoy the process of becoming a teacher. I learned so much during my training year, far more than I expected.
And the best part is that the support hasn’t stopped. Now that I’m an ECT, they’re still checking in, offering guidance, and making sure I never feel like I’m doing this on my own. I have a large bank of resources and they connected me with other teachers and trainers online, and that community has become something I regularly rely on.
Looking back, taking the risk was absolutely worth it, and I’m really grateful to have trained with YHTT.
